'The weathered path' describes a quiet scene. 
As dusk settles overhead, a man can be found on a seemingly leisurely stroll. His face as animated as the silent trees, he gives little indication of his frame of mind or motive. In the background, a second character can be seen heading away from us. A suggestion of a brief encounter, perhaps, and of all that is left unsaid.
