Original artwork description
I love to paint iin a way which hints at an underlying story but it is left to the viewer to decide for themselves what that may be. In this case, however, I'll share the inspiration for 'The Wall and the Rose II'
While watching a news report from Gaza, I noticed in among the chaos and rumble of bombed out buildings, part of a wall still standing against which a single flower stem had survived. A symbol of beauty, hope and resilience; a reminder that nature will survive long after we destroy ourselves.
A palette knife introduces minimal texture and a contemporary vibe to this evocative painting. If it's of interest, you may like to pair it with 'The Wall and the Rose.'
This painting is sold unframed but is suitable to do so should you wish. I do not varnish my paintings , as I prefer the slightly chalky look of the oils as laid down. If you would like it varnished before sending, I can do so at no extra cost.
The painting is signed, dated and titled on the reverse and initialled on the front.
I ship internationally using an insured, tracked and signed for service. Please note that payment of import duty/tax is the responsibility of the buyer.
