The tree by Stourhead lake
Blue light,
Its branches reaching out,
Over the waters edge,
The colours of the leaves,
Like beautiful gems.

Words and feelings of my walk round Stourhead lake in Wiltshire. This original watercolour was inspired by the light, colours and beautiful tree.
Original impressionist watercolour on cold pressed Fabriano watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb.
I drew out my design of the composition with high quality watercolour pencils. Then I wet over the artwork with a sable hair brush using the first washes for the sky and background. To bring out the tree I went over the branches with an earth shade using a Chinese brush.
I have signed on the front and back of painting.
