The day I visited the Taj Mahal, the weather was terrible. It was a damp February morning; it had been raining torrentially all night, and it was cold and windy. I had envisioned leaving Agra with a set of photographs of the white marble building glistening in the morning sun, but standing in front of it, I knew that wasn’t going to happen. After visiting the interior, I walked around the majestic walls of the Taj Mahal. The rain had stopped, and a dense fog was looming in. Away from the crowds that had taken over the main entrance, I sat in a quiet spot and photographed the silent building playing with the fog. In the end, I was pleased that my images revealed a different, moody side of this amazing building.
