In comparison to my usual work, this is a gentler painting. The naples yellow background mildly glows and the principal character poses in a relaxed manner.
The title 'The strawberry thief' refers to the name of the William Morris bird and flower design used in the womans clothes. The name and design allude to both mischief and innocence.
