“...The love of a cat will teach you that presence does not need words. That just being there can be enough. That you can be a refuge without asking for anything, without promising anything, just breathing together at a slow pace, in the quiet miracle of life...” (Andrew Faber). This inspired me to create this painting, which represents the innocence, intimacy, and sweetness of a little girl engaged in a tender embrace with her beloved cat. The liveliness and depth of their emotions spring forth through acrylics, watercolors, and inks, in which expressionism blends with realism to express tenderness and protection. I wanted to convey the warmth of pure love, which gives peace and security. This artwork brings a soft embrace into the home, capable of enveloping the spirit with calm and comfort.
