The Isle of Skye like the land of the Snowmaiden, is a place where magic happens. In Winter, when the sun shines and the air is cold and clear, we get huge snow clouds. They fly quickly across the island towards the West and the Highlands of Scotland with drifts of snow falling as they go. Like a curtain of soft lace across a window, the snow falls silently. When the sun hits these beautiful giants, they turn gold and bronze.

This image of a huge snow cloud over the small island of Rona in the far north of Scotland brings light and drama to the stage. Golden tones as the sun hits the top of the cloud and the calm sea below. The image was made on the top of the cliff at the north end of the Isle of Skye, a few seconds and it was gone.

This edition is limited to just 15 and presented at 48 × 48 inches, finished as standard in a light oak float frame. The frame gives the artwork a refined, contemporary presence while enhancing the depth and intensity of the colours.
