Original artwork description
“The Silence – Study 2” is an acrylic painting on 200gm Bockingford paper. It is mounted and framed in a solid wood glazed box frame 24cms x 24cms x 3cms.
The painting is only for sale in mainland England. This is due to the expense of shipping and related custom duties. Shipping costs within England take into consideration scale, weight and insurance. U.K. shipping costs for this artwork are £15. It is shipped in a cardboard box.
The painting takes inspiration from the Sefton coastline, near to where I live. I walk the beach and dunes every morning at daybreak where and when you can see and hear the silence. The painting is part of a series of studies that precede larger canvasses. I maintain my interest in and take inspiration from the abstract expressionists ie: Elizabeth Frankenthaler, Barbara Rae, Hans Hoffman, John Hoyland, Richard Diebenkorn, Robert Motherwell, Henri Matisse and Gillian Ayres.
