Artwork description
I think it is because of my Scandi heritage that I am so fascinated by Ravens, mysterious messengers for the mythology god, Odin.
A collagraph, means that I have on a piece of cardboard, made cuts, removed the first layer of cardboard to create mid tones, cut a bit deeper and removed more of the layers to get the really dark blacks, where I want light colors, I have added lacquer so I can clean that area really well, all this is time consuming. When I have done my cutting, the plate needs to be lacquered, in Because of the fragility of the cardboard plate, I get very few prints, in my mind that makes it more fun for me, it is a very creative way of making prints and you will see more of them in the future.
I have printed 6 Ravens, and that is it, they all come with small difference one to the other, I hope you will treasure this as part of the handmade process.
I have signed, titled and numbered each print.
The beautiful warm white paper measures 27" x 19" (68 cm x 48 cm )
and the actual printed area measures 19" x 16" (58 cm x 38 cm )
The print is striking and can frame large if you wish to make a statement piece.
I ship from Denmark, with many years experience in packing my art so it arrives safely, see my many happy reviews.
Thank you for looking, Welcome back, Mariann
