Original artwork description
The Pursuit of Loneliness reflects Alexander Levich’s interest in the psychological atmosphere of contemporary life. Although modern society offers unprecedented opportunities for connection, travel, and communication, the experience of loneliness often persists. Levich approaches this theme through a quiet architectural metaphor.
At the center of the painting, a small structure appears within a luminous field of green and yellow tones. The building seems isolated, almost floating within the surrounding space. Beneath it, a row of soft lights evokes windows or distant human presence, subtly reinforcing the theme of solitude.
Created with countless small brushstrokes layered across the surface of the canvas, the painting reveals delicate transitions of colour and texture. These subtle variations allow the structure to emerge slowly from the abstract field, encouraging viewers to spend time discovering the image.
