Original artwork description
I titled this painting The Pottery Shop in La Tramblade because I was captivated by the quiet beauty of this old village courtyard. There is no grandeur here—only warm terracotta rooftops, whitewashed walls, and the marks of time that give the place its character. I painted with bold, textured brushstrokes, allowing every color to express its own emotion. The blue doors and windows bring freshness to the scene, filling it with light and air. The clay pots in the foreground stand as humble symbols of everyday life and honest craftsmanship. The tall utility pole at the center anchors the composition, creating a strong vertical line among the cozy buildings. I wanted to capture the feeling of a peaceful day, where even the oldest houses seem to preserve the stories of generations. Soft light gently touches the facades, revealing the richness of color hidden within the white walls and red roofs. Through this painting, I sought to show that true beauty can be found in the simplest and most sincere corners of the world. I hope the viewer will feel the same sense of warmth and tranquility that inspired me while creating this landscape.
