Original artwork description:

What does rest mean to you? Contemplating rest, I realised that it means bright, bold colours which energise and soothe me, nature scenes and daily, weekly rhythms of everyday rest. This is a scene of a early Spring time wildlife pond in my garden, providing refreshment and rest for nature as it emerges from hibernation. Yellows, purples, light blues and turquoises, meet emerald green leaves meet coral pink trunks, and bouncing light off the small pond in the middle. The mark making is expressive and gestural.

Materials used:

Acrylic on canvas
