Original artwork description
The Past Has Happened
from the series The Lost Choice
Embroidery, textile collage, beads, fabric
This work is part of The Lost Choice, a series reflecting on irreversible decisions and the emotional landscapes that follow them.
A woman is shown in profile, looking away. Her gaze does not turn back. The past has already unfolded — nothing can be undone, nothing rearranged. There is no dramatic gesture, no visible struggle. Instead, there is acceptance.
Her garment blooms with dense color, texture, and layered detail. The surface is alive with beads and thread, forming a vibrant, almost overflowing field. Within it, small white animal figures appear — quiet symbols of instinct, memory, and what once was. The body carries the weight of experience, yet it also carries life.
The ornate dark frame surrounds her like history itself — structured, fixed, immovable. But inside this boundary, she blossoms. Despite everything. Despite what cannot be changed.
The Past Has Happened speaks about resilience without denial. About the strength to live with what was, and still continue to grow.
