Original artwork description:

The other women, part of a serie of works about women conditions and the different questions surrounding the past/present/future of Us.
I have started this painting late 2019, after compiling research about diversity in the Art field, collecting testimonials and realizing that we have a long road.
I never realized how much being a woman artist impacted me until people called me a woman artist.
Always funny how people, art community and buyers can define us and elevate our perspective on things differently.
In this painting, I combine different portraits of women collected from concerts of Elvis and Beatles.
I wanted people to have the same impression of euphoria and hysteria when visiting the gallery and value their visit as much as the painting.
What is somebody applause your entrance and was celebrating in the white cube.
At the same time I was reading about the lack of diversity in the Art world, all fields and I was thinking they don’t see us properly, so let’s be loud, bold and colorful.
I wanted to combine my passion for geometry, colors and chaos. I created different layers of composition, characters, patterns, and color shifting. I wish the viewer can navigate and explore this painting as if it was a reading, each layer bringing a new way to look at each woman and becomes an abstraction, crossing edges, and makes women part of the abstraction.
Let’s do a large painting of women painted by a woman and add 0,1 % of women in the Art world. It will eventually bring some awareness and mew opportunities for some of us.
As usual, I immersed myself in metrics and articles about the different subject, to have an objective vision about the situation and wish to make these numbers change, if not for me, for the next generation.
