Original artwork description
Painted on-site in the artist's neighborhood in Minneapolis, MN. Features a couple of blooming iris flowers, one yellow and one deep purple, accented by a smaller yellow and red iris and a background of blue, green, and deep purple. Painted in oil on board. The running and dripping effects in the background have been created with water-based casein paint using the artist's signature 3 step process. First the flowers are painted on-site, then covered with mask, then the background is created, the mask removed, and the painting is completed with oil glaze. The flowers are painted with both brush and palette knife, and the petal shapes are enhanced by the shaping of the paint with palette knife. Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a mahogany colored finish. May be purchased unframed by request.
