- THE MASKS GAME
Original artwork description
Artwork created on canvas stiffened by sand and glue, made similar to a fresco, realized as an exploration of the complexity of identity and the masking of true selves, behind the facades we present to the world. Each of us plays our role unconsciously: like the cards in a deck and the game of chess, each has his or her own mask and value assigned by the game itself, between strategies of dissimulation and discovery, expressing tension between visibility and concealment. The whole becomes a hymn to sensuality and mystery, even through the exuberance of the splashes of a purple-red wine goblet that, in the center of the work, symbolically invites the viewer to reflect on their own masks.
