The Marionettist (2025) Etchings & engravings by Michaela Wheater

This print is an original handmade print which shows a Pelham puppet that I have owned since childhood. It is from a small edition of 10.
It is a Photopolymer Etching. A photographic image that I took as part of a series has been edited then printed onto acetate. UV light was then used to expose the image onto a photopolymer plate which was developed and fixed in order to create a plate akin to an etching plate. The plate can be inked, wiped and printed in a press in the same way that an etching is.

Materials used:

Oil based printing ink on soft white Somerset etching paper.
