Auvergne landscape, France.
This is not the wide, tamed Loire that we know, lined with the most beautiful châteaux of France. Here, near its source, it is still a young, wild river, full of life and tumult. This is the waterway I love to paint, through the changing seasons and light.
That morning, a soft autumn light was gilding the treetops, imposing its palette: brilliant yellows, warm ochres, and a few tenacious greens that refused to yield to the season.
The white finish of the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a hanging without a frame.
Materials used:
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
