The lightness of being: We possess an inherent wisdom that sometimes shines through, revealing the true essence of life as the lightness of being. The lightness of being describes a state of harmony with oneself and the world around us.

Within the painting bursts of color appear almost like hidden life beneath the surface: dusty blues, soft pinks, hints of turquoise, and earthy browns. These colors don’t shout; they seem to rise gently through the layers, as if revealed over time. The multiple layers of acrylic create depth and complexity—some areas are scraped back, others built up—giving the impression of time, our lifetime.

This painting has multi layers of acrylic paint on canvas making this work highly textural. The canvas is stretched over professionally made wooden stretcher bars.
