Artwork description:

The Land I Love is a tribute to the raw, untamed beauty of the Isle of Skye. Captured through intentional camera movement (ICM) photography, the scene dissolves into an abstract expression of wind, colour, and light. Wild grasses bend and sweep in the autumn breeze, their golden tones set against the dark outline of the Cuillin mountains beneath a restless sky.

The palette is warm and grounding — mustard, ochre, soft brown, and black — evoking the richness of autumn earth and the deep calm that comes with it. The image feels both dramatic and soothing: the weight of moody clouds balanced by the warmth of the land itself.

There is an emotional honesty here, a sense of place that feels timeless. This is not just landscape as it appears, but as it is remembered — fleeting, atmospheric, and deeply rooted in the spirit of Skye.

Each edition is hand-printed in my studio on the Isle of Skye, using archival fine art canvas and museum-grade inks to preserve its depth and richness. The piece has an ethereal, dreamlike quality — as though the mountains were remembered rather than seen.

Available in small editions in sizes 20 - 60 inches on either luxury fine art paper or archival canvas, Mountain Light brings a sense of tranquillity and drama to contemporary interiors.
