Original artwork description:

The dreamlike environment that pervades the painting, made in surrealist style, symbolically alludes to the becoming of time. The curious perspective of the Duomo of Florence, emblem and cornerstone of the past, lends itself to the reclining of the masked figure in the upper left that dominates the scene : it is the present that apparently shows itself, but full of unknowns and doubts of interpretation. The face of the future that, at the bottom right, seems to want to appear and yet wait for the true face of the present to be revealed. But the fan of cards is in the process of finding its own order that can be surprised and subverted in the uncertain alternation of fortune.
