This oil painting is a view of the Hampshire Avon from the right-hand bank just above the town of Fordingbridge. The flat and broad valley flood plain give the artist those big skies which a lovely to paint. The trees are mainly willow which catch the autumn light, the fore ground is dominated by waving rushes where I have placed a kingfisher to add interest to the scene. The frame is a dark antique gold with a light slip.
