This artwork is part of 197th Annual Exhibition (May-June 2023), Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture.

The original photograph was taken in Hanoi, Vietnam. It is part of my award-winning series The Lotus Lake. This series won Honorable Mentions at the International Photography Awards 2013 and was published in many art magazines and national news, including Vogue Italia, Widewalls, Vietnam News, El Economista etc. The series was exhibited in Paris, Madrid, Ducal Palace of Medinaceli (Spain), and especially at Saatchi Gallery in London, and auctioned by Christie's Hong Kong.

The lotus flower is the symbol of Buddhism. It symbolizes the beauty in darkness and purity/strength of heart, because although the lotus grows in the muddy water, the flower grows to be beautiful and clean.

This art photograph was created based on photography and digital techniques using painting textures, inspired by the lacquer art of Vietnam.

This specific photograph has been exhibited at Ducal Palace of Medinaceli (Spain) and in Milan and Naples (Italy).

Printed on Hahnemuhle German Etching 310 gsm. The photo is signed at the back and a certificate of authenticity will be included.
