One evening, while I was teaching my children to play chess, they asked:

“Why does the knight move across the board? Why can’t it be a giraffe?”

In their imagination, the giraffe could see farther than every other piece, move freely across the squares and create its own rules. That simple question became the beginning of this collection — a meeting of childhood imagination, elegant geometry and artistic freedom.

Black and white evoke the rhythm of a chessboard, while warm beige tones bring softness, balance and the natural patterns of a giraffe. Every element of this painting has been created by hand, giving the artwork its own movement, composition and character.
