Original artwork description:

The Flowers Scream Their Joy is a painting of an exuberant meadow full of buttercups that expresses the joy of June in the English countryside. It is 36x30x1.5 inches oil on canvas. The title is taken from a line in a song by The Lotus Eaters and seemed very appropriate. Yellow is known as the happiest of colours and when buttercups go mad like this it makes me very happy. The inspiration for the painting was walking through farmland near West Grinstead in Sussex (though it could be anywhere in England in June). It has been painted so that the edges are blurred and the flowers appear to be exploding out of the centre of the painting which gives impact to their enthusiasm. I have no doubt that all forms of nature love June and I am pleased to have expressed that feeling in this painting. If anyone needs help feeling happy – especially in an English winter – this may be for you. It is dedicated to farmers everywhere who are taking the time and trouble to plant their field edges with wildflowers and repair their hedgerows so that flowers and wildlife can have a better chance to thrive. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang and comes with certificate or authenticity and gifts from the artist.
