Original artwork description

Getting it together in the garden of discontent.

The Flight of the Fanciful describes nature and the nature of people acting in groups. The painting tramples through a bit of botany and a little anthropology.

The central figures make their passage through an idealized world, their pitchforks ready at hand. It could well be that they are there to tend the land; a noble and tender motivation. Alternatively, the group may be driven further on by wilder ideologies and misplaced passions.
