Artist's description:

Oak Park, a suburb of Chicago, basking in the heat of an American summer. I have painted this cinema before, but I remain struck by its iconic shapes and colours, a longing for a more innocent, idealised and filtered version of the past, a world of milk shakes and burgers, of huge cars, and of hazy meadows. The work is on a 0.4 inch deep canvas and can therefore hang without the need for framing.
