Original artwork description
The Enchanted is a very large oil painting of a river bank with wildflowers and kingfishers on an English summer day in the countryside. It is 36x60x1.5 inches and was inspired by a June walk along the river Adur near Amberley (postcode BN18 9LR). The river meanders through the South Downs in Sussex along grassy banks with wildflowers and wetland birds in abundance. Kingfishers provide little glimpses of magic, when you are lucky enough to spot one, as they are like little jewels that make a river walk even more enchanting – hence the name. There is a particular point at end of June when nature is in complete mad overdrive and this is the feeling I tried to capture with this painting. It is semi abstract and contemporary, messy art nouveau in style. Dedicated to all fellow walkers and people who are working to protect our birds, wildlife and nature. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, framing not necessary.
