This painting explores the complex and layered nature of love — a state that inherently holds duality.
At the center, two female figures are intimately connected, as if bound by an invisible inner thread. One appears quieter, almost like a reflection or shadow, holding stillness and depth. The other is more present, turned toward the light, embodying movement and emotional openness. Together, they form a unified field — a visual metaphor for love where closeness and distance, tenderness and vulnerability, presence and absence coexist.
Delicate branches intersect the composition, introducing tension and growth. The immortelle flowers held by the figures symbolize a feeling that does not fade but transforms over time.
The contrast between warm ochre-gold tones and cool turquoise hues creates a dialogue between the earthly and the spiritual, the physical and the eternal. Gold leaf enhances the luminosity, giving the painting a sense of depth and living energy.
This work is part of the series “Immortelle Flowers”, dedicated to the idea of eternal love as a source of life and transformation.
