Original artwork description
A strange, almost manneristic family portrait - a portrait of the artist’s wife and his daughter Ustinya is a confirmation of how strongly the traditions and attitude of the representative of the 21st century intertwine with S. Kozhin. Still life, which is the semantic center of the picture, evokes a double feeling. Fish, Flemish beautifully laid out on the tables, turns into a surreal ornament. Only a sophisticated viewer can comprehend the full depth of the many subtexts of the canvas. Fish is an early Christian sign found in the catacomb painting, a sign of virtue, of Christ.
