The courtyard of memory, is an oil painting on canvas, the image represents a typical courtyard of Segovia, Spain, El Patio de los Rueda, this is the only courtyard that has been preserved original since the fifteenth century. During my visit to Segovia in August, I painted plein air. So this is a painting made directly on site, I have taken a few days to finish it. To walk through each corridor of the courtyard, to observe carefully, was to access a visual memory that evidenced 5 centuries, to be in this place and to paint it has been like traveling in time.
