Original artwork description
The Cornfield, The Forest, Penguins lane, Dead Mans Cave....if these names are familiar to you , then you grew up in Artane in the 80s. I remember the magic of it, once you were over the school wall the endless summer days began…..games of manhunt, climbing the highest tree, making dangerous swings, meeting new friends, sharing laughter, the anticipation of the never ending dispute between 'The Coolockers'. I remember today great friends some of them still living and some gone to another place. This painting is dedicated to two special people i have fond memories of in the days of The Cornfield both Owen Rooney and Gavin Mc Fetridge. Their spirit and laughter will live on with me forever. To everybody who has a magical memory from childhood and to those who are creating it for their own children allow yourselves a thought and a smile of beautiful times past and more to come….
