"The Conversation" is taking place by a swimming pool belonging to a house in Vathy on the island of Ithaca (Homer's Island), in the Ionian Sea. The empty chairs by the table with the coffee cup give the feeling someone has just left.
The pastel colours of the building and surrounding paving contrast strongly with the trees and swimming pool in high summer.
