The colours of Creech heath, Dorset
An uplifting glow in the sky,
The abundance of natural woodland,
Bracken, grasses, gorse and fertile vegetation,
Quiet and undisturbed as the pathway disappears,
All beneath ancient Creech hill fort.

Words and thoughts of a calming place where I have often walked and long to go there again soon.
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper 425 gsm 200lb.
I used a pressing technique over wet on wet washes and gradually introduced the colours building up the layers and etching out the grasses with my nails.

Materials used:

Extra rough textured watercolour paper acid free bockingford 425 gsm 200 lb, Holbein watercolours, filbert brush, sable hair brushes,
