The Colour Led the Way grew from my impressions of the road between Vernon and Giverny in France in spring 2026. Even before reaching Monet’s garden, the journey was already unfolding through flashes of wild colour — red, orange, violet, pink and vivid green appearing along the way.

Back in my studio, I transformed that impression into an original semi-abstract floral painting. Loose, expressive brushwork creates a dense field of flowers and foliage in which individual forms emerge and dissolve into colour. The composition is not a literal view of one particular place, but the sensation of moving through a landscape that seemed to guide me towards Giverny.

The title reflects that experience: for a moment, colour became a direction of its own. Influenced by Impressionism and the French landscape, the painting is vibrant, spontaneous and filled with movement.
