This painting was inspired by a mesmerizing spectacle: thousands of birds moving in unison in the twilight sky, circling and diving as if performing a complex choreography, then radiating out through a swarm of starlings, evoking the motion of waves. These high-energy flights became a kind of “visual music”: the dancers and the musician performed in symbiosis with such harmony. The work is symbolically dominated by the dynamic, three-dimensional flight pattern of starlings, in which everything seems to blend together in the synchrony of a single fluid entity, almost as if to tell us that each individual has its own identity but also an irreplaceable place in the whole, capable of creating a unique image.
