There is something so quintessentially British about an allotment and our obsession with gardening and nurturing plants. We have recently acquired an allotment at Dukes Meadows and love to go there to be with the nature and hear the sounds of the birds and bees buzzing from flower to flower. For me, there is something so wonderfully disorganized and spontaneous about these spaces and I find them a very inspiring place to paint. I think, being a Londoner it is a relief to see a space where nature can take over and where there is no concrete or brick to be seen!
