Original artwork description:

The Autumn Portal is a large otherworldly oil painting of an autumn forest path being revealed though a veil. It is 60x36x1.5 inches. The painting is large enough so that when you stand before it you are drawn along the path until it descends serenely into the distance. Anything you can dream of could be just round that bend. The trees on each side are in autumn colours of orange, magentas, yellows and greens. Some are defined and some are almost abstract. Shades of violet and faded purples play off against the vivid yellows. A low November sun sends beams of light through from the right casting tree shadows across the path and into the deeper woodland on the left. There is a mystery to the painting and the inference is that there is a portal here that may lead elsewhere. It was inspired by recent walks by the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex where Autumn of 2025 was especially vibrant and almost fairy tale in in nature’s last big statement of the year.
