With reference to a collection of beautiful California Poppies showcased in the Sarah Raven catalogue. Called Thai Silk and described as ruffled silk poppies, a beautiful mix of oranges, pinks, reds and cream above elegant blue-silver highly cut leaves.
This is an abstract impression done in acrylics and oils on collage, with added oil crayon. The edges of the box canvas are done in solid black.

Materials used:

acrylic paints and pencil overpainted with oils then collaged with paper from a Mark Rothko catalogue
