“Syncopation” grew out of the joyful, intuitive energy that’s been guiding my recent work, but it has its own distinct rhythm. As I painted and collaged, I felt as though the shapes were dancing with one another - bold leaf silhouettes slipping in and out of the light with a nod to Matisse's paper cut-outs. I kept the colours bright and buoyant, leaving pockets of space for sunlight to spill through. I played my favourite dance music as I worked to keep up a dynamic energy. Together, the three pieces create a visual rhythm—playful, balanced, and full of joie de vivre

I used acrylic paints, inks, crayons and collage. I make my own collage papers by painting on lightweight sheets with layers of professional grade colour. After cutting out shapes with a knife, I glue the pieces onto a prepared wood panel using archival glue. Finished with satin varnish - resiliant and easy to wipe.

Each image is 35 x 35 cm giving total image size 105 x 35 cm. It will cover more wall space with a reasonable space between each.
