The West Braes is a well known and much loved place to walk along the East Neuk Coastal Trail, which runs along the Forth Estuary in Fife.
The views over the water are always interesting, and sometimes, depending on the light or the weather conditions, spectacular. I have painted views in the area often. In this painting, the sun is setting and the clouds are suffused with the warm colours of the setting sun.
I hope this painting may remind viewers of this beautiful place in Scotland if they have visited it or live near it.
