This painting captures a mature oak tree, late in the year when the foliage has partially fallen, enough for the late sun to shine through, emphasising its autumnal setting. I love the touches of pink and mauve in the sky which really bring the sunset to life, adding pops of exciting colour. I use high quality, professional oil paints which give the work longevity. The painting is set in a good quality, white painted wood frame with a small shadow gap between canvas and frame.
