This is based on my sketches of the Arizona Desert. Using heavy impasto brushstrokes and bold contrast, I sought to capture the vibrant energy and light of the American Southwest.
The warm, orange-gold sunlight on the distant mesa creates a striking contrast against the deep violet-blue sky. The painting is executed on professional oil-primed canvas, stretched over wooden bars, and wired on the back for immediate display.
