Original artwork description
This tower in Kolomenskoye Park appeared in 1959 after the flooding of the Bratsk Reservoir. The Bratsk fort was founded in the 1630s on the banks of the Angara River - not far from the place where the city of Bratsk is now located. The Cossacks built a fortress, making it a stronghold for Russian settlers in the Baikal region. Now the tower is located in a park near the Zhuzhi River. I painted this sketch in the tower on the same day as another winter sketch. I painted at sunset, in the frost, and quite quickly since this condition changes very quickly in winter and the frost gets stronger.
