This circular miniature painting evokes the serenity of a mystical woodland with elements of impressionism and soft golden tones capturing the fresh peaceful energy of a forest bathing place. Exploring an interpretation of landscape the work is highly textured with elements of copper and turquoise. Created using a multi layered technique the under layers remain visible while the eye is drawn to the lighter textured tones and can appreciate the depth of the piece. There exists within the painting an emotional sense of serenity and romance. Sunlight Forest Glade is intended to bring a sense of harmony and peace to any home and would be a beautiful gift for a loved one.
An original artwork, one of a kind, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints a circular canvas. I begin with observation of the place making notes and taking photographs to work from in the studio. From these beginnings I work intuitively, painting some base layers with a brush and then impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife. Harnessing optical mixing techniques employed by the impressionists I continue working until the painting reaches a natural conclusion. The painting continues round the sides a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
For display purposes the painting has been photographed on a white background.
