This painting captures sunflowers arranged in a vase, bringing their warmth into focus through bold, luminous colour. I’m especially drawn to the striking contrast between the brightness of the yellow and orange petals and the deep, dark background surrounding them. The darkness makes the flowers feel even more vivid—as if their sunlight is filling the whole space. I also incorporated a black-and-white striped pattern to reinforce that contrast. The pattern adds rhythm and structure, helping the sunflowers stand out even more while giving the composition a lively, energized edge.
