I have a certain weakness for the sunflower, as its encoded sacred symbolism and the beauty of its texture never leave my attention. I find it everywhere on all my travels, both in the south and the north. And finally, last year, when new soil was brought in, sunflowers sprouted near my house. I took advantage of this and painted them from life.
