There is a demand for polish, impact, and immediate comprehension. Works with a certain ambiguity in title or visual terms may cause us to examine our own responses, interpretation and meaning.

Abstract sculpture has a physical presence which embodies the intangible and encourages this process. It can bring varying emotions into daily life, being a reminder of something special, events and experiences. Our daily lives are enriched by the objects that surround us.

The bronze ring shows natural material in a rubbed and lacquered finish on the front edge, further treated with a translucent golden patination of the rear. The ring is finished with a subtle variegated patination on the inner surface contrasting with a vibrant blue on the external surface.. The ring stands on a burry oak base.

One of the pleasures of small, domestically-scaled sculptures is that they can easily be moved around, to accompany other treasured objects and refreshing both their surroundings and the perception of the collector.
