Original artwork description:

Summer pastures
So green,
June landscape,
The Royal Gillingham Forest,
Muted and earthy,
Ancient oaks, old stone wall and pastureland.

Words and experience of being here recently with a wonderful group of artists, immersing ourselves in beautiful old English landscapes.
Original impressionistic watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper 300gsm, 140lb bockingford. I used Japanese watercolours and this painting was created outside. I found a wonderful new wooden bench and had to paint the view. I became rather hot whilst painting this scene, I persevered and managed to complete it on a very hot Summers day.
I kept this watercolour freestyle and expressive. I wet the paper in areas and applied a very pale yellow wash. Then I created the clouds with a filbert brush, using the same colour for the hill ridge. I pressed the paint on for the oak trees building up there shape and colour.
All my paintings are titled, signed and dated on the back of the artwork,

Materials used:

Extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 300gsm 140lb, filbert brush, fan brush, Chinese brush, Japanese watercolours,
