A lush tropical garden, brimming with big leafed plants such as gunnera and bananas, sits in the middle of urban inner city Leeds. The etching is about the contrast between the verdant vegetation and the lines of terraced housing which surround it. And as it is summer in Leeds, there are swifts powering overhead. I first saw this garden when it was featured on the BBC's Gardeners' World programme and the owners were kind enough to allow me to visit and nose around.
